All our nephews and nieces are growing up far too fast.......it's scary, I still only feel 18 myself! So it was our lovely Becky's 18th birthday a couple of weeks ago, which gave me an excuse (not that I need one) to get in the craft room and do a special card :-)
This one is a white scalloped edge 8 x 8 card blank. The blue backing paper is from my Kanban stash, and it was distressed & stitched onto black card. The other three papers were from my scraps draw (never throw anything away) which also got distressed and stitched onto black card. The topper is from the Kanban Steampunk collection...........which I love! The metal embellishment is from some jewellery bits & bobs that I have. I just made some little dangly's with some beads and then stamped one of the kanban steampunk designs onto shrink plastic, coloured it (with Promarkers), shrunk it and hung it on!! The card was then finished off with a sentiment, sticky pearls and a lovely bow! :-)
For the first time ever, I thought I would have a go at decorating the inside of a card, instead of just using a paper insert! When I'd done it, I said to myself......................................."why have you not done this before? I love it!!" I just took two pieces of paper from my 12 x 12 stash that matched the colour scheme, distressed the edges and randomly stamped the steampunk image onto it. The cobweb corners are one of my yummy "Cheery Lynne" dies and lastly, the scalloped oval for writing my message on was cut using my Cricut machine (Elegant Edges). There you have, job done..................................... and she thought it was "awesome" .......I think that makes me "Cool Auntie Debs" ;-)

My Whimsical Creations!!
I can't believe it's been nearly two months since I last updated my blog!! I've been so mega busy it's untrue............where does the time go (if anyone does find it, please return it to me)? Good to be back in blogland though, so onwards and upwards!
My crafty offering for today is two pictures that I made to hang up in our hallway downstairs!! Most of my cards get posted out to relatives & friends or get sold. So I thought that I would like to create a few things to actually "keep" instead of give away!
The first one is A4 in size and backed with plain white cardstock.
Matted onto that are two different patterned cardstock from my 12x12 DCWV stash! The backing paper at the front is from one of my First Edition 6x6 pads, they have all been distressed around the edges and stitched (I'm really into stitching at the moment)!! The lace started it's life white, but I just coloured it with my promarkers to match the scheme. Also coloured with my promarkers is the cute little image called "Lets Make A Picnic" from The Paper Shelter. As always, some lovely embellishments always finish a project off nicely.......... I chose paper flowers from WOC and some butterfly die cuts from my new stash of Cheery Lynne Dies ( I love those dies, they're amazing). These were all inked lightly with my distress inks, then some sticky gems added as little butterfly trails!!

My second picture is also backed onto white A4 cardstock and the backing papers and card are once again from the same 12x12 DCWV pad, which have been distressed and stitched around the edges!
The digi stamp is again from The Paper Shelter and she is called The Sweet Gardener, coloured as per usual with my promarkers! The scalloped circle was cut with my Cricut machine then inked. More paper flowers, sticky gems, butterfly and flourish Cheery Lynne die cuts and a spider web bow to finish off!! :-) All I need to do now is find some frames for them and get the husband to hang them up!

Ice Cream Colours!
Good morning crafters! Today I'm doing another Kenny K Challenge, I just can't help myself!! This weeks challenge is "Ice Cream Colours" and although I am not a big fan of ice cream, I have been known to have the odd bowl of Toffee Fudge........I like fudge!
I've been itching to have a go at doing a stepper card, so I found a template that I could download from Kraftyhands, and decided to give it a go! You can use either A4 size cardstock or an A5 card blank.............I went for the A5 card blank.

All the cardstock once again is from my Kanban stash! It was all cut to size (which was a bit of a challenge in itself) then matt & layered onto brown pearlescent backing paper and distressed with Tim Holtz - Vintage Photo. The image of course is from Kenny K and I couldn't resist using Troublemaker! She was coloured with my promarkers in all the Toffee Fudge colours I could muster!! The card was then embellished with an organza bow, sticky pearls and two punched out butterflies, then finally the sentiment was added! :-) x

Mojo Monday 253
So I'm a little bit late with the Mojo Monday challenge as it's now Thursday, but better late than never.................I think!!
This card has been made for my cousin Karen, who will be celebrating her 40th birthday on 16th August! :-) I stepped outside my comfort zone of 6x6 this time and went for an A5 instead.

All the colourful backing paper is Die Cuts With a View - Mango Frost. I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Fired Brick then just matt & layered it onto pearlescent red cardstock! The image is from my fave digi stamp site Kenny K Downloads, this one is Happy Hour! It was coloured as usual with my promarkers and distressed, then the scalloped oval was cut using my cricut machine - Elegant Edges. The finishing touches were some organza ribbon and a sentiment from my stash!
I think she will like it.......................even I like it, I don't want to give it away!!!! ;-) x

Happy Anniversary!!
Good afternoon fellow crafters :-) Today I share with you a card that I have made for my brother's 20th Wedding Anniversary, which is later this month! I can't believe it's been 20 years, the memory of that day is still fresh in my mind as if it was just last week............. and yet in a few weeks, he will be a grandad for the second time!! How time flies!
So this is an easel card with a little gift draw at the bottom, and as much as I would like to take the credit for the mechanics of this card - I can't ............... it was a template that my lovely mother in law gave to me! Putting the card together was fairly easy, but trying to cover it with my papers and card was a different story ....................it took FOREVER! Basically, the paper and cardstock is from First Edition which I distressed with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo. The sentiment is from my Kanban stash which then got the Stickles treatment and all the other embellishments were just from my crafty stash. This is one project that I'm glad to say is finished ................next!! :-)

Down On The Farm!
I'm getting this overwhelming urge to reference my blog to a common bus complaint ........... in the sense that you can be waiting for ages and not a single bus turns up, then suddenly three come along all at once!!! So here it is, my third (and final) blog entry for today!
Another card for another challenge, this time it's for "Passion For Promarkers" and this weeks challenge #158 is Down On The Farm.

So back to a white 6x6 card blank again. The backing paper is from First Edition and this has been matt & layered onto blue pearlescent paper. The two border strips were from my scraps tray (never throw anything away!). The digi stamp is from Karen's Doodles and has been coloured with my lovely promarkers! The image was then cut into shape using my cricut machine (Elegant Edges) and matt & layered onto metalic blue paper. The lovely paper flower embellishments are from Wild Orchid Crafts, then it's just been finished off with a simple sentiment from my stash! Ta daaah.
Get Sporty!
This card has been made for another Kenny K challenge. This weeks theme is in honour of the 2012 Olympic games which will get under way in a weeks time! So quite aptly named is challenge # 102 - "Get Sporty!"
I went for a 7x5 card blank this time, and to tie in with my colour scheme I chose a black one. The spotty back ground card is from Hunkydory and all the other paper & cardstock is from my Kanban stash, which has just been matt & layered onto gold mirri board. The digi stamp is Soccer from Kenny K Downloads and has been coloured with my promarkers! The embellishments are some die cut footballs and a trophy, finished with a happy birthday sentiment! Fingers crossed again, as I do love my Kenny K digi's. :-)

Shabby Chic
Good afternoon crafters, it's been a wee while since my last blog........so what's on the table for today?
I thought I would join in with "Wild Orchid Crafts" challenge this week! It's another one of those firsts for me with this one.........firstly for WOC and secondly the theme is "Shabby Chic" which I've not done before! I did get a few crafty tips from my wonderful friend Lavinia (whom I think is awesome at doing Shabby Chic), so here is my offering for "WOC Challenge #54"

It's a 6x6 card blank and the backing paper is a lovely freebie from "Astrid's Friday Freebie", if you love vintage and shabby chic go check it out, they're beautiful. The scalloped oval was cut with my cricut machine from card stock in my stash. Both the paper and card have been distressed with "Vintage Photo" then gold stickles has been applied around the edges.
The digi stamp is from Make It Crafty and was coloured with my promarkers. The embellishments are a punched out butterfly that has been glittered, self adhesive pearls and of course some WOC paper flowers! I hope you like it! :-)

Kenny K's Challenge #102
So the card that I share with you today is for Kenny K's Krafty Krew challenge. The theme this week is "Big Birthdays", as they are celebrating their 2nd year in digi-land ......so I've opted for an 18th!
Kenny K's are my favourite digi stamps and the one that I chose for this weeks challenge is Miss Fortune.
The card blank is a white 6x6 easel card. I've mat & layered some Kanban cardstock from my stash, and for the first time I thought I would try stitching around the edges (I think I'm pleased with how that turned out)!! A piece of black ribbon was added across the centre and to match I coloured some peel off sentiments in black. The embellishments are paper flowers and card candi. The base of the card is covered with pearlescent paper and the bunting with 18th on was cut using my cricut machine!
As ever, the image was coloured using my wonderful promarkers!
And there you have it!!! Wish me luck and fingers crossed as it's a mega prize bundle this week!! :-)

W O Y W W #163
Good afternoon crafters! :-) It's been a couple of weeks since I last had a "desk hop" on W O Y W W. I've been mega busy and not had much chance to get any crafting done! Although one thing that I have done (with the help of my very tolerating husband) is to have a craft room make over (again)...............and this time "I love it!"
So today I'm more showing off my desk instead of what's on it.......................I know it looks mega tidy, but I just can't help it, I suppose I'm just not a messy crafter, I HAVE to tidy up .........sorry!!
What actually is on my desk is a card that I finished yesterday for another Kenny K challenge and a free Hunkydory mini kit from Create And Craft that just so happened to arrive this morning!! :-)
So I'm off now to have a peek at your desk! Happy crafting all :-)

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday # 160
My post for WOYWW is a little bit late today, but not without good reason! I've been busy making Lavinia a little birthday card for tomorrow, and I wanted to wait until the coast was clear so as not to spoil it for her!! :-) So I hope you will join me in wishing her a "Happy Birthday" for tomorrow!
I know that Lavinia has a soft spot for Hunkydory.......................... so out came one of my kits, I then splayed it out on my desk to choose which bits & pieces I wanted to use!

Once I'd picked out what to use, it was quite straight forward to put the card together! That's the beauty with most of the cardmaking kits that are out there, it takes all the hardwork out of it for you!! If you need a quick and easy card, then bob's your uncle, everybody's happy................I hope x

Mojo Monday #247
All the paper and cardstock has come from my Kanban stash! The blue paper started it's life white, I just inked over it with a "Sky Blue" Brilliance inkpad and matt it up on some silver mirri card. The scalloped square was cut using my cricut machine (Elegant Edges) and lightly distressed around the edges with Tim Holtz "Faded Jeans". Then a lovely piece of blue floral vellum was placed in the centre and edged with peel off borders! The die cut sentiment was also from my Kanban stash and to finish off, I embellished with some paper flowers (Wild Orchid Crafts) and pearl gems! :-)

Kenny K Challenge 98 - All That Jazz!
So here is my entry for the Kenny K's Krafty Girlz challenge #98 titled "All That Jazz!"
This weeks challenge was to bling it up using more than ten gems and glitter! So I've used some glitter embossed backing paper from First Edition and some glitter cardstock to mount my sentiment stamp onto! The sentiment stamp is from Lili Of The Valley and of course my digi stamp is "Dancer" from "Kenny K", which has been coloured using my promarkers! Finishing touches were plenty of gems and a strip of polka dot ribbon and a bow! :-) x
My Niece's Birthday Card
Well first and foremost, I would just like to say a great big "Thank You" to all the wonderful participants on WOYWW. Your words were very kind, welcoming and encouraging, so lets all keep up the good work!! :-)
So today I have for you a little birthday card which I did for one of my niece's who's birthday it is on Sunday! I actually did the card yesterday but didn't get chance to do a post about it, so here it is.
I've used a 6x6 white card blank and done some matt & layering with a few papers from my stash! The image is "All That" from Kenny K which once again has been coloured with my promarkers, then the card has been finished off with some paper flowers, a bow, fabric butterflies, sticky gems and a sentiment! Although I have to say that in my haste to get it finished I forgot to cut out the white gap in between the trousers ....................I'm sure she won't notice ;-) x

W O Y W W 159
Good afternoon crafters!! Today I'm joining in with my very first "What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday". Being quite new to blogging, I can see that I've got lots of "first" to come, so very exciting! I was encouraged to do WOYWW by Lavinia who is a very dear friend of mine and a truly inspiring crafter, so thank you very much for introducing me to this crafty community. So, what was on my workdesk? The makings of a birthday card for one of my nephews who is 15 today.
He is very keen on drums and guitar so I thought that this Kenny K digi stamp was very appropriate! As usual it has been coloured using promarkers! Then I picked some co-ordinating cardstock from my stash and just matt and layered it up!
Although, as you can see from the finished card I did change my mind at the eleventh hour about the black and white cardstock, and just went for something with more black on it (not quite sure that was the right decision now - hay ho)! Finally I just embellished it with a few mulberry paper musical notes and the jobs done! I hope he likes it :-)

It's back to The Paper Shelter today for my next challenge entry! This weeks theme is simply "Anthing Goes". I went for a 7 x 5 card blank this time which has been mat & layered with black and pink card stock and distressed with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink. The corner stamps and sentiment is from Lili Of The Valley. The image is Executive Woman, and has been coloured with promarkers, distressed with Tim Holtz Barn Door ink then cut into shape using my Cricut machine! Finally I added just two sticky gems and some "blobs" of stickles around the sentiment...........vuwalla!!! xx

Another Day Another Challenge!
This is my entry for Kenny K's Krafty Girlz challenge, titled "Animal Antics". I love Kenny K's digi stamps and although I didn't have one of the "Critterz" stamps, I was able to use Download Diva and just embellish the card with a butterfly!! Another 6 x 6 card blank, layered with three complimentary backing papers. The digi stamp is coloured with promarkers and the finishing touches were paper flowers, butterfly and a few sticky gems!! Enjoy .............. I did xx

My First Challenge Entry!!
This is my very first crafty blog challenge!! It's for The Paper Shelter "Going Dottie" theme! I've used a 6 x 6 white card blank and the "Dottie" backing card is from my Hunkydory collection. The patterned paper and the topper have been backed onto textured green cardstock and edged with faux stitching! The topper itself is "Mushrooms" digi stamp (which has dots too) from The Paper Shelter, which has been coloured with promarkers, distress ink and glittered, then finally cut into shape using my Elegant Edges cricut cartridge. Finally, the sentiment is from Lili Of The Valley and I finished up with a bow and key & heart charm embellishments! I hope you like it :-) xx
