Favourite Colour Combo

Good evening crafters!  Another day brings another challenge, so let's get started.  This card was put together for this weeks challenge at Passion For Promarkers, their theme this time around was Favourite Colour Combo's.  To be honest, I have a few colour combo's that I like..........red & black, purple & black and pink & black........... I settled for pink & black!
The card blank is 6x6, my backing papers are from my First Edition pads which I matt & layered onto black cardstock and put some faux stitching around the edges!
The lovely digi stamp is Elf Queen from Kenny K and she was coloured with my promarkers.  It was at this point I was thinking to myself....."why did you pick black?"  Black is the most difficult hair colour to do (for me anyway), it took me AGES!!!!
Once coloured, she was cut out and placed onto the card, then I just added my finishing touches.  These are some paper flowers, card candi, a stamped and die cut sentiment which was distressed and then had two black pearls placed on either side - sadly not the kind that comes with Johnny Depp ;-)  Then finally a flower sprig from one of my Memory Box dies.
I decorated the inside of the card with the same matching papers as are on the front and gave them a faux border with my black promarker!  Lastly the die cut corners are from my Cheery Lynn collection of dies .........yummy!  :-)

The Sweet Stop - Snowman

I've discovered another "sketchy" challenge blog on my travels called "Sweet Stop Sketches", so naturally I couldn't help but join in!!!!  Simply follow the sketch and add the spin, this weeks spin is Snowman!

The card is 7x5 in size, the blue backing card is from my hunkydory stash and I matt & layered it onto black card stock!  I did the same with the musical note backing paper, then once again got the sewing machine involved for stitching around the edges!
The image is just part of a simple acrylic stamp set that I have.  It was stamped with staz-on and coloured with promarkers then distressed around the edge.  I then stamped, inked and die cut a sentiment and added two sticky pearls!  Finally some polka dot ribbon and a bow were added down the left hand side!  :-)

Vintage

My crafty offering for today is another card for this weeks challenge over at Kenny K's.  The theme this time is "Vintage"
Starting with a 6x6 card blank (surprise surprise), I matt & layered some gorgeous vintage backing paper from Astrid's Artistic Efforts onto black card stock, then stitched around the edges!  I am getting rather addicted to stitching my cards at the moment, I think it makes a great effect!  I also did the same with the other two backing papers.
The digi stamp I've used for this card is Scarlett West and it was coloured as usual with my promarkers!  The finishing touches are some pink ribbon, paper flowers from WOC, some lovely die cut "Olive Branches" from Cheery Lynn and a sentiment from Lily Of The Valley which was stamped and distressed!

Then finally the inside of the card was decorated with the same lovely backing papers from Astrid's Artistic Efforts, it makes such a difference to do the inside aswell.  :-)

Going Gothic

Todays card was created for this weeks challenge over at Kenny K's, the theme this week is titled "Going Gothic!" which is something quite close to my heart. :-)

I decided to try a twisted easel card for this one, again 6x6 in size.  The purple backing paper is from my Kanban stash.  I've used my black frantage embossing enamel with some gold glitter glass around the edges.  It's the first time I've used that stuff and I think I'm quite pleased with how it looks.  It's just a shame that the pictures haven't been taken in very good light..........daylight was rapidly fading!

In the centre of the card I've used yet more of my Kanban cardstock.  Both cut from the same piece but the one underneath was coloured with my promarkers!  They were then matt & layered onto black cardstock, stitched around the edges and a piece of polka dot ribbon added down one side.  The gorgeous image is Trixxie Treat, from Kenny K's halloween collection, and of course was coloured with promarkers!
I've then added some cobweb corners from my collection of Cheery Lynne dies, which I've inked over very lightly using black soot (I think)!!
The base of the card is the same Kanban backing paper, but this time it got matt & layered onto black cardstock and stitched around the edges.
The stopper on the base of the card is again a Cheery Lynne border die, cut from the same black cardstock!  Then finally I stamped a sentiment, die cut and inked it with black soot and then put some sticky gems on the edges!  There you have it, I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I enjoyed making it!  :-)

Flower Extra Vaganza

Today's offering is for a challenge over at The Paper Shelter, I really like their cute little digi stamps!
So this weeks theme was Flower Extra Vaganza, ans as it would suggest it's all about flowers!
Once again my favourite size card blank to work with is 6x6.  My backing papers are from various First Edition pads, distressed and faux stitched then matted onto white cardstock!  Paper doille was also distressed with the same ink.  The image is The Sweet Gardener which has been coloured using my promarkers, then cut out and mounted onto foam pads.  The finishing touches this time are paper flowers from WOC, my Catalina Border die from Memory Box, a sentiment that was stamped onto card then die cut and inked.  Then last but not least a few sticky gems and pearls! :-)

Peach & Blue

My card for today is for a challenge over at Passion For ProMarkers (and I do love my promarkers).  This weeks theme is Peach & Blue!

I started with a 7x5 white card blank this time.  The blue backing paper is from DCWV, I just distressed it with Faded Jeans ink pad and then did a faux border and stitching effect!  The peach paper is from one of my First Edition pads and I found some matching pearlescent card stock, that I ran through my cuttlebug using a Cheery Lynn Francesca border die to create the lace effect border at the bottom.  The image is Princess Pia from Kenny K, which was coloured using my fab promarkers, then cut out with my cricut machine using the elegant edges cartridge.  The finishing touches here are some polka dot ribbon, sticky gems and a sentiment all from my crafty stash! :-)

Winter White's

Better late than never, but ...............Happy New Year to my fellow crafters out there, I hope you all enjoyed the holidays as much as I did! :-)  I promised myself that in the new year I would try to do alot more blogging and card making challenges.  I struggled finding the time towards the end of 2012, so start as I mean to go on, and my first entry for 2013 is Winter White over at Cheery Lynn!

I got quite a few yummy dies for christmas off my lovely husband, and for this challenge I was able to use three of them on one project!  So as the name suggests, the challenge was to use all white with the exception of colour for the main image.  I chose to make a 6x6 easel card which I quite enjoyed!

I matt & layered a piece of fancy white card onto some spotty backing paper from my stash.  Found a lovely pale blue sentiment from one of my Kanban kits and put Stickles around the edge.  The Cheery Lynn dies I used were Lace Corner Deco B, Francesca Border and Lace Fairie Queen.

The die cut shapes also got the stickles treatment, then positioned onto the card once dried.  I used a piece of plain white card on the base, which I ran through my cuttlebug with an embossing folder.  Then finally the finishing touches as usual were some flowers from W O C.
